Experience

  1. Apr 2025 - Present

    Filevine

I am currently a Compliance Analyst for a Legal Tech SaaS vendor, managing and supporting ISO, SOC2, and FedRAMP audits. Auditing is hard, and I'm still learning. What I am enjoying most, believe it or not, is performing third-party security risk assessments. It's an interesting exercise to look at the architecture and tech stack of a product, and then make a broad assessment of it's security posture and potential risk.

  2. Nov 2023 - Apr 2025

    America First Credit Union

In this role, I learned a lot about digital identity and authentication technologies. I managed the delivery and implementation of technical solutions across a range of business areas, including IT operations, IAM, and fraud detection. Acting as the expert for CIAM applications, I got to dive deep into the subject of identity federation technologies (SAML, OAuth, OIDC) and how they facilitate the integration of third-party services into digital banking applications. I really enjoyed being close to the software development life-cycle and playing a role in how new features were designed, built, tested, and pushed to production.

  3. Aug 2021 - Aug 2023

    Capgemini

Here, I learned lots of very cool hacking stuff from some awesome security nerds. I worked with and managed security tools including SIEM, IDS, EDR, Threat Intelligence, and Vulnerability Management systems. I triaged hundreds of security incidents, including Friday night P1s. What I enjoyed most about my time here was being part of implementing the first threat hunting programme in the SOC.

  4. Apr 2018 - Aug 2021

    Enterprise

Responsible for the overall performance and growth of several car-rental branches. I did everything across all business functions including growth, sales, customer service, operations, marketing, and employee development. Most importantly I learned how to wash cars in a three-piece suit.

  5. Jan 2017 - Apr 2018

    HITRANS

Implemented an IT infrastructure project to modernize legacy transport systems. In simple terms I was manually converting handwritten bus timetables into a route planning software, and sending large zip files to someone in Glasgow, who was uploading them to Google Maps so that tourists could figure out how to get to Loch Ness.

  6. 2014 - 2017

    ?

I wasn't missing or stuck in a time warp for three years. After university I had a few jobs and did some travelling. But that was too long ago for the recruitment team to care about.

Education

  1. 2011 - 2014

How many economists does it take to change a light bulb?...None, if it really needed changing, market forces would have caused it to happen.

  2. 2008 - 2010

How many quantum physicists does it take to change a light bulb?...If you know how many, you can’t be sure if they’ve actually changed it.
